Description
Black and white photographic print showing detail of northwest perspective view of the Mouns Jones House during restoration.
Details include: gable-end chimney, pargeted masonry, masonry fracture.
Note written in pencil on verso reads, "Fixing that big crack." See comments in MJHPH50 regarding the infill-masonry technique applied in repairing the gap created by the long fracture from the raking wall coping downward into the first story walling. The gable wall to the right of the “crack” displaced [“rotated”] slightly to the westward but was stabilized by the intersecting “quoin” stones forming the NW corner of the gable and eaves walls. See record MJHPH54 for a detail view of the upper ranges of this fractured wall.
Note written in blue pen (under pencil note) on verso reads, "IN WEST [sic, i.e. north] WALL MOUNS JONES HSE"
