Detail of southeast perspective view

Mouns Jones

Images

Description

Black and white photographic print showing detail of southeast perspective view of the Mouns Jones House prior to restoration of c. 1957 collapsed roof, flooring, and upper-few courses of eaves walls. Details include: Damaged corner chimney; chimney flashing course; pargeting remnants; rabbeted casement window frame. The cracked stone over the window opening appears to be an original cantilevered lintel. A similar pair remains across the span of the 2d story window to the north of this one. Based on these elements, pairs of stone lintels will be installed above all restored window openings in the house. See record #..... describing and depicting the replacements in the river-side eaves wall. Note written in blue pen on verso reads, ”CORNER FIREPLACE CHIMNEY IN N.E. [sic, southeast] CORNER OF MOUNS JONES HSE 1964” Laurence Ward, November, 2018, May 2023
