Description
Photo of original certificate issued March 16, 1833 for 10 shares is signed by bridge company President Clement Brooke and attested by Secretary, George Leaf. The original certificate, and a supplemental certificate for the same 10 shares [photo also attached] are held in safekeeping by the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County, PA. George Douglass II passed away between the dates of the two certificates. See record MVPH1 for a detailed history, photos, and drawings of the covered bridge, removed c. 1952.
