Description
Series of 2 black and white photos showing a southwest (image #1) and northwest (image#2) perspective view of the Michael Fulp House.
Image #1: A c.1964-66 black and white photographic print showing a southwest perspective view of the west eaves wall, south gable wall, and severely damaged roof. An entry in the Trust's Board minutes of the meeting of 3/29/66 indicated that "tar paper" would be placed on the roof of the "toll house" until money became available for "further work." [see MFHPH45--1005.01.046]. The roof, framing and flooring timber, and several ranges of masonry wall collapsed approximately one year later.
Image #2: A c.1936 black & white photographic print showing a northeast perspective view of north gable wall and east eaves wall, and eastern portal of the covered bridge to Union Township, the earliest known image of the 1833 covered bridge. See discussion to photo MFHPH47--1005.01.048 regarding the use of the term "Bridge Keeper" in association with this house. Photographer of image #2 unknown.
Details include: random rubble masonry gable walls and eaves walls; door and window frames; top of cellar door frame in Image #1; stove chimney [collapsed in March, 1967 or removed during 1970 restoration] on north gable end.
